distracted by treading lightly .....

I have been longing to wander off the Range and down to the Maroochydore Botanic Gardens where friends of mine have been exhibiting in the Tread Lightly Exhibition.  In desperate need of distraction, today was the day.

What a treat it was.  A really fine exhibition - a joy for me to see artists there whose work I am familiar with, and to discover a couple of artists whose work I had never seen and with whom I was enrapt.  I seldom go to 'openings' these days, preferring to go out and view work quietly and at length when the crowds are not there.  I lingered and lusted, poked and photographed, chatted to volunteer guardians and a lovely young lady there who is doing her Year 12 Art assignment and was fascinated by the work.

Of the hundred or more photographs I took, I have chosen to represent only four of the artists and will let the images speak for the work.  In photographic order these artists are:  Fiona Dempster, Corrie Wright, Rosie Wilson and Robyn Woodrow.

    1. Thanks Carol - it really is a marvellous exhibition. My photos just touched on what is there. I think it runs until the 6th July and is worth the effort of coming up from Brisbane.

    1. Certainly was a very cohesive and exciting exhibition - I loved the way all the art worked so beautifully together. Gorgeous pieces to photograph too. Could have blogged on each artist easily.

  4. Saw the exhibition and I love your photos. I found Fiona's red threads and Rosie's extraordinary sculptured books most appealing.

    1. Thanks Jo. It was a fabulous exhibition wasn't it. you can see from my blog which were my favourite pieces too. Mind you, I had stacks and stacks of gorgeous photos - just had to keep it reasonable for the post! I think the folder paper books are wonderful to photograph - will make a stash of my own just so that I can photograph them ......

  9. Thank you so much Ann. Seeing such an exhibition was such a treat - not just artist's books but an array of artwork made with paper. Just gorgeous.
Fiona - once again, I am so proud of you! Your work was/is standout.
Hello Donna - yes indeed a spectacular show. A number of very fine artists and I just picked out a few of my favourites. I do not have links for Rosie, Corrie and Robyn but if I track them down - I will certainly link them to this post and let you know.
Thanks Barry - I have enjoyed all the viewer perspective's that have been blogged on this exhibition. We all loved it and we all take home different views or aspects, even different photographic angles of the work. I enjoy seeing the same work from differing viewpoints.
