home again last night ...
there are no words for this post
my soul connects deeply to this sacred place
moeraki's boulders
at all times of tide and day
my favourites are near and at the end
more tomorrow on the shag point boulders - a completely different feel.
(the colours are true to life)
I can see why the Moeraki Boulders speak to your soul. They're speaking to mine as well. It must have been exquisite to be amid them...to wander and view, to touch and listen. Thank you for sharing your photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer. They really are incredibly beautiful and quite unique - only a few places in the world can boast these concretions. I am hoping to make a book from my sketches and will write down the Maori legends and stories we learned as well.
DeleteSublime...looking forward to seeing what comes out of this visit!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I did quite a bit of drawing whilst there but am not sure yet what will come out of the visit. A book for sure, but whether it sparks any larger work, I am not yet sure. Time will tell...
DeleteHi SB - welcome back - and you are right the images speak for themselves - sensuous and mysterious. B
ReplyDeleteVery sensuous and mysterious and yet strangely masculine as well. Fitting that I posted on Wordless Wednesday - though I actually wasn't aware of it at the time!
DeleteThank you for transporting me to this beautiful place. The water, the boulders and the light take my breath away!
ReplyDeleteI have just been completely sidetracked by having a lustful prowl through your website. What a glorious body of work you have there on show Pam ..... LOVE all the blue and am really really hoping that I start to use some blue soon. Thank you for walking through the boulders with me.
DeleteBeautiful photographs.... I love the shapes and the muted colors. Those boulders are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThey really are quite something to behold Sharmon. I had ten days there and never tired of visiting them ... always seeing something different.
DeleteWhat glorious forms - I'm doing some clay work at the moment and the boulders have set me more ideas for the work I'm doing .
ReplyDeleteHello Diane. That sounds pretty exciting .... the next post of mine may give you some lovely ideas with thwack tho work too. Will keep an eye on your blog to see what you are making with the clay.
