more on 'ode to fallen angels' ....

I have had lots of time in the studio this week ..... unproductive time mostly.  I have been re thinking Fiona's and my next collaboration, trying to find a realistic outlook for my book making, waiting for energy and inspiration to grip me and send me hungrily to larger work.  Very little of this has actually happened, though today I think I have found a way forward on my 'ode to fallen angels' book.

This work started its life as three engravings - too personal for anyone but myself!  I decided last week to cut the prints down into book pages (thank you to all of you who left lovely comments on that posting) and they have been lying there waiting for me to fill in the story.  It needed to be dark and heart felt, secret and unrevealing ...... full of buried emotion.  I think I am resolving this piece now.  Will post again when the book is finished.

    1. thanks Diane. Has been qite an effort this week, pulling ideas together, rethinking them and so on. Been really lovely to have had the time to think of possibilities rather than rush into the work.

    1. I have really enjoyed this excercise Louise although it has been hard pulling together all the imagery so that every snippet worked. Am quite excited about the results which I will post soon.

    1. Thaks Julie. Glad you have sensed the mysterious in my work. I think the work of mine that I like the most all seems to be dark and broody - not really like myself at all though I tend to be one of those deep thinking water people. I love thinking of buried things ...... secret hiding places and hard to decipher meanings. Sometimes I manage to show that in my work. Can't wait to finish the books - yep, I made two, rather than clutter one with too much information.

  4. Love the dark light here... so like a 19th-century etching... very Gustave Doré, but for this century....

  5. I love the juxtaposition of light and dark and all the extraordinary, detailed pattern. To me, there seems to be so much controlled and finely directed energy ... beautiful as they are ... but I'm sure the end result will be even more amazing...

    1. Thanks Charlton. I have always loved working with this juxtaposition - sometimes more dark than light. I love the mystery of dark images I think. I have almost finished all the pages, 18 of them, which I am making into two books. Hope to unveil them soon ....
