No need to caption all these photos - these are just some of the stacks sitting on table tops around my studio - not taking into account stacks in cupboards and bundles in drawers. Delicious bundles waiting for completion, or commencement, for inspiration or to be sewn together. Quite honestly, as one stack is turned into something creative, I am sure another bundle or two will appear in its place! This is how we all work - or is it???

ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here fairly drooling over your stacks of papers, artist books, bits. My fingers began twitching and itching to touch and feel the texture of the paper's edges in that first photo. It only got worse as I scrolled down the page.
What a delightful gathering to work amongst and with. And thank you so so much for sharing your treasures!

DeleteBack to the stacks, or bundles - I adore having them lying around because they do invite touch and offer all sorts of possibilities which can lead into different directions.

Hello eb - thank you for calling by and looking at my blog. Must say, I love being part of the stacks and stash movement! Only blogged on some of my stacks - my studio clutter will fill another blog one day!
DeleteGreat stacks Susan... and all so pristine. My stacks are all covered with splashes of paint, glue, etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo - yes, they do all look a little pristine .... The clutter around my studio is a different matter. I can picture the brightly coloured splash stacks around your studio :-)
DeleteLovely images of lovely stacks - delicious! Whenever I see your studio stacks I always imagine they are not abandoned like mine; but are actually prepared and ready and waiting to go! They seem more purposeful than my poor neglected ones; but that might just be because I know the stories that lie behind mine...
ReplyDeleteoh not true ..... some of my stacks have been abandoned for years. For instance the one with the envelopes addressed to Pip has been there since her Gap year in 2005. I addressed the envelopes to her whilst in Hungry and had every intention of painting on the envelopes, or printing one of my little Hungarian etchings on them. There they sit ..... neglected. Until one day!

Hello Donna - thank you for coming by my new blog and taking time to comment. I think a Stacks and Stash movement is going around the blogs at the moment - thanks to Jennifer, and its been fun. I photographed some stacks, or bundles as I name them, but one day may blog on some of the 'stash' around my studio - of which there is plenty. I absolutely agree that this seems to be the way artists work - out of those bundles or stacks, beauty emerges. Sometimes it emerges quickly, but the emergence may take years in other cases. I must go and check out Anca's stacks. I imagine we may see stacks in your blog soon.
